Sam Gibbons was a well-known political figure from Tampa Florida. Gibbons was known for his active roles in the Florida State House of Representatives, Florida State Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Gibbons was involved with the United States House of Representatives from 1962 until 1996. During this time, Gibbons was never defeated in the 18 terms (44 years) he was elected in this position. Gibbons was also the acting chairperson of the House Ways and Means Committee from 1995 to 1996 as well.
